A service interruption left the Texarkana, Texas, city government telephone system unusable for hours Monday, stopping all incoming and outgoing calls.
The outage affected all city departments and facilities, staff informed the public about noon via social media and the city website.
A spokesperson for Windstream, the city's phone service provider, said the problem was with a piece of city equipment and technicians on the scene would work as long as necessary to fix it.
