During Hispanic night, the college will be giving out four awards to outstanding Hispanics in the community. Awards will be given to a high school student, a UA Cossatot student, an adult education student at UA Cossatot, and a local community member who have all experienced academic success.

A meal will be provided and catered by La Media Luna. The event will also include special guest speaker Doris Gutierrez. Before the awards are given out a discussion panel will take place for anyone who would like to learn about UA Cossatot. Questions about admissions, financial aid, degree options, and anything else UA Cossatot related can be asked and answered at Hispanic Night.

UA Cossatot Admissions and Recruitment Specialist, Lizz Garza, has been coordinating the event and working with other UA Cossatot staff to make preparations for the event. Garza said, "Working on Hispanic Night this year has really opened my eyes to how extraordinary we Latinos are. We have so many ambitious and driven role models within our community and we hardly recognize them. It has been an enriching experience to get to know all that our community is accomplishing and it is even more rewarding to know that we are all pieces of the big picture."

Those who wish to attend Hispanic night should RSVP by contacting Lizz Garza at [email protected]at 870-584-1159 or 870-912-0338.
