PG to consider testing services for its new elementary

Pleasant Grove Independent School District will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. today to consider a firm for testing and inspection services at the site for the new elementary school.

The district broke ground Monday on the Margaret Fischer Davis Elementary, located at Galleria Oaks and Christus Drive.

The $14.4 million project was funded through a $19.9 million bond voters approved in May 2018 for the school, additional security and technology upgrades.

It is expected to be complete by July 3, 2020.

The district acquired the 12.054 acres for the new school through a land swap with CHRISTUS Ark-La-Tex Health for 4.35 acres at the current elementary site.

The meeting will be held in the Central Services, 8500 North Kings Highway, Texarkana, Texas.
