  •  A Fill The Bus event for Pleasant Hill Children's Home will be held April 27 at First Assembly of God Church, 3401 W. Seventh St., Texarkana, Texas. Nonperishable foods, paper towels, trash bags, personal items, etc., will be accepted. Info: 903-276-4148.

 

  •  First Baptist Church Golden Circle Class is sponsoring a three-day garage sale benefiting Samaritan's Purse Operation Shoe Box from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2-4 at 1901 College Drive, Texarkana, Texas. Items include furniture, household goods, toys and home decor.

 

  •  The 33rd annual Blevins Community Area-Wide Benefit Barbecue for Arkansas Children's Hospital will be 4 p.m. May 5 at Blevins High School Cafeteria. There will be a raffle for a Henry Lever Action 22 rifle, entertainment by The Bear Creek Boys, a cake auction, and more. Cost for barbecue is $5 for adults and $2.50 for children 12 and under.

  •  Operation Kids will participate in a summer food program to provide meals without charge to all children 18 years and under at Food From Heaven, 820 E. 17th St., Texarkana, Ark., from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for lunches, and from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for snacks. Dates are June 3 through Aug. 13, excluding July 4.
