TC trustees weigh remodeling proposals

Texarkana College's Board of Trustees will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday to consider proposals for restroom remodels and asbestos abatement for the Health Occupations Building.

The college received remodel proposals for plumbing fixtures, plumbing labor and toilet partitions for a total of $100,416. They did not receive proposals for tile work and are advertising again for bids. The tile work is not expected to exceed $200,000.

TC received four bids for the asbestos abatement, and the administration is recommending the lowest bid of $19,800 from Impact Environmental Services. The work is part of the TC board's goal of remodeling the vacant health occupations building to be used by the science, technology, engineering and math department.

The board will also consider personnel and moving the May meeting to May 20, as the usual meeting day of May 27 is Memorial Day.

The meeting will be held in the Patman Room of the Truman Arnold Student Center, 2500 N. Robison Road, Texarkana, Texas.
