TASD Board weighs bids, budget and audit today

TEXARKANA, Ark. - Texarkana, Arkansas, School District's Board of Directors will consider several bids, the 2020 budget and the 2017-18 legislative audit during its regular meeting today.

It will be held at 6 p.m. at the TASD Administration Building, 3435 Jefferson Ave., Texarkana, Ark.

The proposed budget includes an unchanged tax rate of 38.9 mills.

Bids are for 50 new computers for teacher training and curriculum development at all the district's magnet schools and an agreement with Advance Education Inc. to provide teachers and staff with access to tools, professional services, assessment and support resources the company provides.

Directors will also consider an agreement with the Buck Institute for teachers needing additional Project-Based Learning Training, tree removal at the high school and furniture for the common area at Arkansas High School.

Also up for consideration is the renewal of a contract with the district's parent notification system, SchoolMessenger.
