TEXARKANA, Texas - Texarkana Independent School District's Board of Trustees will consider the 2019-20 tax rate and an online school calendar during its regular meeting today.
It will be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Administration Office, 4241 Summerhill Road, Texarkana, Texas.
The proposed tax rate of $1.3233 is lower than the current $1.425, thanks to House Bill 3, which gave schools additional funding for teacher and staff salaries.
The new rate will include $1.0683 for maintenance and operations and $0.255 for interest and sinking funds.
Trustees will also consider the 2019-20 calendar for eSchool Prep, the district's newest online school, which will operate on a different calendar than the district's other schools.
They will also consider a yard maintenance vendor, a teacher appraiser list and a resolution for 4-H adjunct faculty.
