ASHDOWN, Ark. - A pinning ceremony was recently held at the University of Arkansas Cossatot's Ashdown Campus for graduates of the college's first Physical Therapist Assistant Program.

The program was launched last year. Students receiving pins include: Adam Bailey of Murfreesboro, Ark.; Kylie Bowens of De Queen, Ark.; Kyle Duncan of Ashdown, Ark.; Mandy Mote of Hensley, Ark.; Jeanne Spain of Texarkana, Ark.; and Katy Worrell of Maud, Texas.

Two additional awards were given at the ceremony. Spain received recognition for having the highest program grade average in the class and Worrell received an academic achievement award for having the second-highest program grade average in the class.

Spain said the experience had been exciting. "It is an honor to have been able to go through this program," she said. "It is also very surreal to be in the first PTA group at UA Cossatot to start and finish this program."
