Atlanta, Texas, issues burn ban

The mayor of Atlanta Texas has issued a burn ban until 8 a.m. Sunday.

Mayor Travis Ransom said the ban is to avoid smoke in town during the town's annual parade and Hometown Christmas festival on Saturday. He said no burn permits will be issued during this
time.

The annual Christmas Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. and the event festivities will close with fireworks at 9 p.m. Downtown merchants will be open for Christmas shopping all
day.

Besides the animals and elves, the parade will also have local marching bands and the winners of the Miss Hometown Christmas Pageant
