During its regular meeting Monday, the Texarkana, Texas, City Council will conduct public hearings and vote on a number of rezoning and land use issues.

They include:

  •  rezoning land at 5812 McKnight Road to allow an inspection business there;
  •  specific-use permits to allow electronic billboards at 3408 and 6241 St. Michael Drive;
  •  a specific-use permit to allow a tattoo studio at 1423 New Boston Road; and
  •   site plan approval for a dentist's office to be built at 4009 Moores Lane.

The council will also vote on a resolution supporting legislation related to Riverbend Water Resources District. Texas Senate Bill 578, introduced by Sen. Bryan Hughes, would allow water supply corporations to become members of the district and remove term limits for Riverbend's board of directors.

The agenda includes an open forum during which members of the public may address the council on any topic for up to five minutes each.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at City Hall, 220 Texas Blvd. A complete agenda and supporting documents are available online at texarkanacitytx.iqm2.com/Citizens/Default.aspx.
