Texarkana children will soon have a new place to get and share books.

A free little library will be available beginning Saturday at the Texas side's Southwest Center, according to a city news release.

Volunteers will stock the library with a variety of books for children in kindergarten through fourth grade. Anyone may take or contribute a book.

The African American Committee of the Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council will host a grand opening for the library from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Southwest Center, 3222 W. Seventh St. Refreshments will be available, and art projects will be on display.

The Southwest Center is open Monday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Tuesday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
