A man accused of dragging another man for 10 blocks down State Line Avenue last month was quickly arrested after local police turned to Facebook.

Texarkana, Texas, Police Department shared a photo of Quintavious Hayes in its inaugural Felony Friday post and Hayes was booked into jail at 2:50 p.m. the same day, according to police records.

Police do not expect every Felony Friday post to work that quickly, but are hopeful that Facebook will help spread information about suspects with outstanding felony warrants, TTPD Spokesman Shawn Vaughn said.

"Social media always helps a lot. It's a good resource to locate people and identify suspects and also provides two-way communication with the community," Vaughn said.

Hayes was allegedly involved in a vehicle crash on State Line Avenue in late December.

When the victim approached Hayes' vehicle immediately after the wreck, Hayes allegedly said he was going to pull into a nearby parking lot to exchange information, but took off in the other direction instead. The victim realized what was happening and tried to reach inside the window to stop him from leaving. Witnesses said the victim's arm got stuck in the seatbelt as the car sped away, and he was dragged for 10 blocks down State Line as Hayes' car swerved back and forth.

With the car still moving, Hayes allegedly unbuckled his seatbelt and the victim fell to the ground and began to roll down the middle of the street, according to reports. Hayes kept on driving. The victim was taken to a local hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit with broken bones and several cuts and contusions.
