Amanda Lance has been named director of Hempstead Hall and Workforce Development at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.

Lance has a decade of hospitality experience and previously served as the advertising and publications coordinator for the college.

She is a 2003 graduate of Hope High School and a 2016 graduate of UAHT and is currently completing her bachelor's degree through the University of Arkansas Fayetteville.

"The impact of Hempstead Hall has been tremendously positive on Hope and all of Southwest Arkansas, and I am honored and humbled to continue the legacy started by Dolly Henley," Lance said.

Henley retired as director of Hempstead Hall Jan. 4. She has served the college for 10 years, first as executive director of the UA-Hope Foundation and later at Hempstead Hall.

"Our community's culture is greatly enriched through the performing arts brought through Hempstead Hall, and I am thrilled to be a part of broadening that scope of opportunity. It will also be exciting to work with our industry and community partners to continue to offer the best training facility in our region," Lance said.
