Cruz congratulates Southern Refrigerated Transport on recognition

Texas Senator Ted Cruz sent a letter to Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc., based in Texarkana, Ark., congratulating them for their being recognized by the Texas Workforce Commission as a nominee for 2018 Veteran-Friendly Employer of the
Year.

Cruz wrote, "The work your team is doing in partnership with Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas is making a lasting impact in the Texarkana community and the great State of Texas. The collaboration of efforts between Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc., and TWC gives your employees the opportunity to expand and broaden their horizons by equipping them to meet the challenges of a dynamic global economy. It is great to know employers like you are providing fellow Texas with the means to achieve more than they ever imagined. I commend Southern Refrigerated Transport, Inc., on being recognized for its contributions to a
brighter future for the State of Texas, and I look forward to celebrating many more milestones with you in the years to
come."

Texas Workforce Commission is the state agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. TWC strengthens the Texas economy by providing the workforce development component of the Governor's economic development
strategy.

Originally created to administer the unemployment insurance provisions of the federal Social Security Act of 1935, the Texas Workforce Commission (after two name changes) expanded its functions and since 1995 is charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas.
