Sen. Barbara Horn was named Board Member Emeritus during a recent meeting of the University of Arkansas Cossatot's Board of Visitors.

UA Cossatot Chancellor Dr. Steve Cole presented Horn with the resolution. She has served as a member of the UA Cossatot Board of Visitors for the past 17 years, during which time she was largely responsible for acquiring the necessary funding to secure the current location of UA Cossatot's Ashdown campus.

The board acknowledged that Horn has gone above and beyond the normal call of duty to serve as a long-time board member of UA Cossatot and expressed to her its sincere appreciation for her dedicated service and her continued
friendship.

"Sen. Horn is a tireless supporter of the college and has been committed to the lifelong learning of all students who have entered the halls of UA Cossatot," Cole stated in a press release. "She has always been willing to communicate the importance of UA Cossatot to the citizens of Little River and surrounding counties. Her love for UA Cossatot is always shown wherever she goes."

Horn thanked everyone for the honor.

"I truly love UA Cossatot and thank everyone who works every day to keep the college moving forward," she said.
