East Street on the Arkansas side of Texarkana does not have a lot of restaurants. When it lost their Dairy Queen earlier this year, the count went down by one more. But it looks like another may be filling that space soon.

The eatery, Daily Restaurant, anticipates featuring Krispy Krunchy Chicken.

"Krispy Krunchy Foods is a business with over 2,400 outlets all over the country. We also have a few in Mexico, too," said Mike Rich, marketing director for Krispy Krunchy.

Rich said the owner of the new Krispy Krunchy outlet is Thayuth Chean.

"He contacted us about three or four months ago and asked about our support in setting up at the East Street location," he said. "He will be offering our products as well as, presumably, burgers, fries and other fast food staples."

Krispy Krunchy Foods is a brand featured at convenience stores. They are sold in a few stand-alone restaurant locations, of which Texarkana will be one.

"We believe the the Texarkana location will benefit that part of town," he said.

Daily Restaurant is expected to open by the end of September.

Other than this coming location, the nearest Krispy Krunchy Foods location is off I-30, in Hooks, Texas.
