Cattle husbandry to be subject of meeting

Area ranchers' environmentally friendly methods of raising beef will be the topic of Tuesday's Friends United for a Safe Environment meeting.

Luis and Miriam Frick, members of the organization, have operated a 1,000-acre ranch in Ogden, Ark., since 2011 and produce grass-fed beef using natural technologies, according to James Presley, FUSE president.

Prior to that, the Fricks worked in commercial-crop agriculture in Texas.

They live in Commerce, Texas, and commute to Ogden.

Both were born in Liechtenstein, wedged near Switzerland and Austria. However, they didn't know each other there-they met in Texas and their sons were born in Texas.

They have been FUSE members for some time, despite the distance.

The presentation is slated for 6 p.m. Tuesday in Texarkana Public Library's Nelson Room. The library is located at 600 W. Third St.
