Bradley Haugh will be sworn in today as the newest member of the Liberty-Eylau Independent School District's Board of Trustees.

Appointed to the board in June, Haugh will serve the remaining term of long-time Trustee Christina Walker, who resigned from her position after serving on the board since 1993. She was the most tenured board member in Region VII. Her resignation was effective June 30.

Haugh graduated from L-E High School in 1999 and serves on the District Leadership Team, the board of the L-E Youth Sports Association and was chairman of the bond election support committee.

He will serve until the next election in May 2020, when he can then run for the position.

The board will also consider changes to the district's discipline grid, which includes a minimum of 15 days removed for a physical fight on a school bus rather than the previous 10 days removed.

Other agenda items include approval of the 2019-20 teacher appraisers and calendar, the student code of conduct and the employee compensation plan.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Board Room, 2901 Leopard Drive, Texarkana, Texas.
