Armed robbery occurs late Tuesday at Dollar General store in Nash

Police: Suspects wore gloves, masks and each had handguns

An armed robbery occurred at the Dollar General in Nash late Tuesday and two suspects are still at large, an official said Wednesday morning.

Two male suspects wearing masks and gloves and carrying handguns entered the store about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, said Detective Michael Sutton of the Nash Police Department.

The store is located at 800 E. New Boston Road. This story corrects an earlier version that had an incorrect location of the robbery.

At the time of the robbery, two clerks and one shopper were inside the store, he said.

One of the suspects held the three at gunpoint while the other suspect went through the register and they left, apparently on foot, Sutton said.

Sutton declined to say how much money was taken.

Police canvassed the vicinity for three hours but were unable to find the suspects, he said.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The suspects are described as one black male and the other either a light complected black man or a white man, Sutton said.
