Man arrested after marijuana plants found

A 70-year-old Miller County man has been arrested on a charge of manufacturing a controlled substance after about 54 marijuana plants were seized from his property.

William Anderson Jr., was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Miller County Detention Center where he is being held pending arraignment on the charges, said Miller County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark Lewis in a news release.The seized marijuana was valued at
$54,000.

On June 13, while working with Arkansas Community Correction Agents on an unrelated warrant service attempt, Investigator Jesse Mathis, a Miller County Investigator assigned to the Bi-State Narcotics Task Force located
the marijuana plants growing in a garden at a residence on Miller County Road 373
in the Mandeville area. The plants were seized, and an investigation was initiated at that time, according to the news
release.
