LifeShare Blood Center in Texarkana has made a critical appeal for blood donations.
"We're needing all blood types but specifically O-negative and O-positive. We have less than a one-day supply of those," said Elizabeth Cunningham, LifeShare regional director.
She attributes the shortage to the number of people who've been ill recently, which affects donations.
"We depend on our donors to supply the community need for our hospitals," Cunningham said.
LifeShare will be taking donations at several places around the community Saturday:
- from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LifeShare;
- from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sam's Club;
- from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Super 1;
- from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Walmart on Richmond Road; and
- from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Walmart on New Boston Road.
