Church sponsors 6K run to support clean water initiative

Fellowship Bible Church is hosting a 6K run/walk/crawl to raise money to provide clean, safe water to areas of the world that don't have access.

The inaugural 6K4 Water takes place at 8 a.m. April 6 and begins and ends at the church, located at 1601 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas. Those who haven't signed up online will need to show up before the start time to register.

There is a breakfast and awards ceremony after the run.

The entry fee is $25 per runner or $30 the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit WaterMission.org. The organization builds safe water and sanitation options for communities in 55 countries.

Winners will receive awards, and breakfast will be provided for everyone. There will be bounce houses and an Easter egg hunt for the children.

There will be a fun run for the children, say church officials, who call it a family-friendly event.

It is estimated that more than 2 billion people don't have access to clean, safe water, nearly a third of the world's population.
