Traffic was backed up in the eastbound lane of Interstate 30 Wednesday for several miles after a fiery crash between two semi-trucks.

The accident happened about 1:45 p.m. at the 3 mile marker , according to Texarkana, Ark., police.

Traffic was slowed down due to work on I-30, when a semi-truck ran into the back of another truck, according to TAPD.

The incident caused a chain reaction where another vehicle was struck from behind. The impact caused the vehicle in the middle to become engulfed in flames.

The driver, a 35-year-old man from Canada, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Traffic was being detoured off I-30 at exit 2.
