Educator named finalist for Christian Teacher of the Year

Landmark Christian Academy Teacher Jean Trichel has been named a finalist in the first Christian Teacher of the Year Awards created by Alpha Omega Publications, a leading curriculum publisher. Five finalists, representing four states, were selected for their use of AOP programs in unique and beneficial ways to inspire students to find their path, glorify God and reach their greatest potential.

A former nurse educator, Trichel began teaching at LCA after five years of retirement. She teaches fourth through seventh grade students, finding both elementary and secondary levels of teaching to be equal parts rewarding and challenging.

"Ms. Trichel is a dedicated teacher who consistently goes above and beyond for the students of LCA," said Principal Tonya Dumdei. "We are excited to see her receive this hard-earned recognition for her great work."

The finalists were chosen by a Christian School Teacher of the Year Awards committee. Along with the other three runners-up, Trichel will receive an AOP gift pack, featuring AOP merchandise and apparel.

"The first-ever Christian School Teacher of the Year Awards have afforded us the opportunity to learn how educators are using our curriculum in innovative ways and we are deeply inspired by these outstanding teachers," said Shaun Redgate, vice president at AOP. "Each of our finalists are dedicated and passionate teachers, and we commend them for their hard work."
