BOWIE COUNTY, Texas - Residents of the Redwater/Maud area can have free smoke detectors installed next week.
The American Red Cross, Redwater Volunteer Fire Department, and Maud Fire and Rescue will install the alarms Nov. 9, according to a news release.
Those interested can register in person 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church Redwater, 105 Redwater Blvd., or Maud Fire and Rescue, 321 Houston St. Online registration is available at redcross.org/NTXAlarmRequest.
"There is no obligation to have these alarms installed into your home. Our goal is simply to SAVE LIVES," the release states.
