Remembering the Code Talkers

D.J. Carroll, member of the Navajo Nation and fellow clansmember of World War II Code Talker Chester Nez, speaks to the Texarkana, Ark., Daughters of the American Revolution chapter Thursday afternoon at the Texarkana Public Library. Carroll left the Arizona reservation at the age of 16 to further her education through a placement program within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which eventually led to her moving to Atlanta, Texas, with her placement family, the Schlossers.
