TEXARKANA, Texas - Police continue to investigate a home invasion where a man was fatally shot inside his own home.
Craig Garner, 29, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday at a local hospital.
Officers were dispatched at 1:19 a.m. Saturday to the report of a shooting at the River Crossing Apartments, 1021 College Drive. Garner was inside the apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. According to his wife, they were awakened by someone kicking at the door of the apartment. The victim got up to investigate as the suspect or suspects gained entry into the apartment and was shot outside the bedroom.
Garner was taken by Lifenet EMS to Wadley Regional Medical Center, where he died later that day.
