TEXARKANA - The United Way of Greater Texarkana is having its sixth annual Community Wide Rummage Sale on Saturday.

The event will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williams United Memorial Methodist Church in the gymnasium, 4000 Moores Lane, Texarkana, Texas.

On Friday, the United Way will accept items from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at WUMMC's gymnasium such as household items, pictures, holiday decorations, yard tools, sporting goods, jewelry, fishing tackle, furniture, etc. However, tires, old televisions and computers, batteries and items that can't be disposed of will not be accepted.

Funds from the rummage sale will go directly to United Way.

With last year's support from the community, United Way has added a couple of new agencies and programs, with its focus remaining on health, education and financial guidance, according to a press release. United Way services nine different counties in the region, and has set a goal of raising $900,000 this year.
