Jury finds man not guilty of dollar store robbery

NEW BOSTON, Texas - A Bowie County jury found a Texarkana man not guilty Wednesday of holding up a dollar store in Texarkana, Texas, last year.

Kevontrius Cato walked out of the Bowie County Courthouse in New Boston a free man following the jury's verdict. Cato was accused of pointing a pistol at a clerk Oct. 25, 2018, at the Dollar General Store on New Boston Road in Texarkana, Texas, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A jury was chosen Tuesday to decide the case before 5th District Judge Bill Miller.

Cato's lawyer, John Delk of Texarkana, said he is grateful for the jury's careful consideration of the testimony presented at trial.

"We are very thankful to the jurors who took time out of their lives to serve," Delk said. "My client and I are happy for the opportunity to move on with his life."
