THS band earns top rating, moves to area contest

TEXARKANA, Texas - Texas High School Tiger Marching Band earned a First Division Rating from all judges during the Region IV UIL Marching Contest held Oct. 15 in Mount Pleasant, Texas.

The judging panel included three Texas Music Adjudicator Association certified judges with ratings based upon the overall complete package of band performance, taking into consideration the components of percussion, color guard, brass, woodwind, instrumental and marching. This rating now qualifies the band to move forward to the UIL Area Marching Contest, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at Mesquite Memorial Stadium in Mesquite, Texas.

In other band news, the Tiger Band also earned a seventh-place finish during the Royse City Classic Marching Contest on Saturday, Oct. 12 in Royse City, Texas. Fifteen bands from Class 3A to 6A participated in the contest.
