Early voting available in Bowie County, coming in Miller County

Early voting for November's elections began Monday in Bowie County, Texas, and will start Oct. 29 in Miller County, Arkansas.

Bowie County voters may cast ballots 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Nov. 1. There will be no early voting available on Saturday or Sunday. Two early polling locations are available: the County Courthouse at 710 James Bowie Drive in New Boston or the Bi-State Justice Building at 100 N. State Line Ave. in Texarkana.

Texas voters this year will decide whether to adopt 10 various amendments to the state Constitution, including measures that would allow temporary property tax exemptions in disaster areas and allow municipal judges to serve in multiple jurisdictions.

In Miller County, voters will decide one contested and one unopposed election for the Fouke School District Board. Two Texarkana, Arkansas, School District Board races have unopposed candidates.

Early voting will be available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on five weekdays, Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 and Nov. 4, on the first floor of the Miller County Courthouse, 400 Laurel St. in Texarkana.

Because the TASD races are unopposed, voting will be by absentee and early ballots only, with no polls open Election Day, Nov. 5. In Fouke, the Election Day polling place will be the Stanley Davis Community Center, 203 E. Redcut Road, open from 7:30 am. to 7:30 p.m.

Neither Texarkana, Arkansas, nor Texarkana, Texas, will have any municipal elections this year.
