Bark at the Park to offer free rabies shots, pet licenses

TEXARKANA, Texas - The third annual Bark at the Park event will offer free rabies vaccinations and more on Saturday.

Organized by the city's Animal Control Services Department, the event will take place 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kylee Sullivan Dog Park in Spring Lake Park, 4303 N. Park Road, according to a news release.

Any dog or cat can get a free rabies vaccination, and Texarkana residents can get free city pet licenses. A veterinarian will offer other vaccinations and microchipping for a fee.

Attendees can learn more about pet services available in Texarkana. Donations will be accepted to assist with funding future pet-oriented community activities.

At last year's Bark at the Park, 559 dogs and 99 cats received vaccinations.
