Texarkana Police seek suspect in Tuesday shooting

TEXARKANA, Texas - Police are looking for a suspect as they continue to investigate a shooting that occurred Tuesday on Robison Road.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Dominique Dejohn Robertson, 25, of Texarkana, Texas, on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to a news release.

Officers were dispatched to Wadley Regional Medical Center at 7 p.m. Tuesday after a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his back was brought to the emergency room by private vehicle. Officers determined that the shooting had occurred a short time earlier near the 1700 block of South Robison Road.

The victim said that, while was going to meet an unknown woman in the Liberty-Eylau area, a gold Mercury pulled beside his vehicle and the occupants fired several shots at him. After realizing he had been shot, the victim drove himself to a residence in the 1400 block of Milam Street, and friends then took him to Wadley.

The victim identified Robertson as one of the people who had shot at him, and Detectives Cody Harris and Cliff Harris obtained the warrant late Tuesday.
