Community yard sale, electronics recycling Saturday

TEXARKANA, Texas - Some seller spaces in the fall community yard sale are still available and can be claimed through noon Friday.

Spaces measuring 20 feet by 20 feet cost $15 and are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Southwest Center, 3222 W. Seventh St. Sellers may not offer animals, weapons or food.

The sale and an electronics recycling drive are scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Spring Lake Park, 4303 N. Park Road. The Parks and Recreation Department organizes the event, which takes place twice a year.

UNICOR will be available to accept recyclable electronics. The following items will not be accepted: acids; CRTs or tube TVs; film, photos or X-rays; furniture or file cabinets; household appliances; magnetic tapes of any kind; microwave ovens; oil- or PCB-containing devices; paints or other liquids of any kind; radioactive materials such as ion scanners; and refrigerants.
