Veterinarian faces hearing after killing cat with arrow

HOUSTON-A Texas veterinarian who boasted online of killing a cat with a bow and arrow faces a license revocation hearing after mediation efforts with state regulators failed.

A mediation session last week between Dr. Kristen Lindsey and the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners failed to produce a settlement. The Houston Chronicle reported Sunday that a formal hearing could be scheduled by late April.

Animal rights activists were outraged when Lindsey posted photos to her Facebook account last June of her posing with a dead cat with an arrow through its head.

An Austin County grand jury declined to charge Lindsey, but she was fired from the Brenham animal clinic where she worked. The veterinary board filed a formal complaint to revoke her license in October.
