Michael Odom will serve as the new Arkansas High School principal.
The Texarkana, Ark., School District Board of Directors hired Michael Odom to take the helm as the new Arkansas High School principal. Odom will replace Eva Nadeau, who announced her resignation in January.
"We are excited to hire Mr. Odom as principal of Arkansas High," TASD Superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler said in a statement. "He will continue to move the high school forward and ensure an excellent experience for our students."
His start date at TASD has not been determined.
Odom's administrative career started as an elementary principal in Stephens, Ark., and he currently serves as K-12 principal in Nevada Schools. He is the lead principal for the Arkansas Department of Education's Leadership Quest Initiative for Southwest Arkansas.
Odom received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Arkansas University and went on to earn his Master's degree in music from the University of Louisiana and a Master of Education from SAU.
Odom also holds a superintendent's certification.
"I believe in student-centered and student-focused learning," he said. "Education today is about preparing the next generation of leaders. We have all of the essential elements for a great educational experience at Arkansas High School. I look forward to working with the wonderful staff and students at AHS and the entire Texarkana Arkansas School District Razorback family."
