Two sought in five violent attacks

HOUSTON - Police are appealing for public help in identifying and arresting two suspects in a string of five violent robberies in a five-hour period in southeastern Houston.

Police say the last three of the five victims were stabbed and all were beaten in the robberies at gun- and knifepoint between 6 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Monday.

A man told police that he was inside his apartment balcony when the pair approached, stuck a knife to his throat and demanded money. When the man said he had none, they punched him in the face and fled. Forty minutes later, a man said he was walking down a path when he was hit from behind and fell to the gro0und. The suspects the kicked and punched him while searching him for valuables before running away.

Twenty minutes later, a man said he was at a park when the two approached and began assaulting him. One suspect stabbed him with a knife while trying to take his belongings. They took his phone and fled.

Almost four hours later, a man said the two jumped him in the laundry room of his apartment complex and tried to take his wallet and phone. When the man tried to fight back, he was stabbed before the pair fled with his belongings.

About a half-hour later, a man said he was taking out the trash from a food market when the pair approached and began punching him. One stabbed him as the two made off with his wallet and cellphone.

A Houston police spokesman said he had no information on the victims' conditions.
