CHARLEY THOMAS

Charley A. Thomas, 90, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, April 23, 2016, at his home. Mr. Thomas was born April 9, 1926, in Garland, Ark. He was a former chairman of the deacon board with Greater Missionary Baptist Church, San Fernando Valley, Calif., and a deacon and member of Charity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Arversia Thomas of Texarkana; two sons, Vincent Williams of Dallas and Charley A. Thomas Jr. of Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Louise Westmoreland of Chicago; one brother, Robert Thomas of Texarkana; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Charity Baptist Church with Alfred Jernigan and Edward Smith officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.
