FREDDIE TUCKER

DeKALB, Texas—Freddie Tucker, 79, of DeKalb died Wednesday, April 27, 2016, in a local nursing home. Mr. Tucker was born Aug. 16, 1936, in Dallas. He was a tool room foreman for Carpco Steel, New Boston, Texas, a member of New Haven Missionary Baptist Church, Dallas, and an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Tucker; and two sons including Freddie "Bubba" Tucker. Survivors include his wife, Gloria Tucker of DeKalb; four daughters, Sandra Morris of Canton, Texas, Karen Miller of Genoa, Ark., Vickie Fields of Euless, Texas, and Teri Auck of Texarkana; one stepson, Joseph Martinez of Jackson, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Smitty of Emory, Texas, June Griffith of Crandell, Texas, and Alice Hussey of Combine, Texas; one brother, Earl Tucker Jr. of Seagoville, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Burial will be in Hubbard Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a favorite church or charity. Online registration is at batesfamilyfuneralhome.com.
