Jim Hilton

Graveside services for Jim Hilton, 68, of Diboll, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2016 in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in New Boston, Texas, with Reverend Walter Sanders officiating. Mr. Hilton was born August 3, 1947 in New Boston, Texas. He passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Hilton attended school in New Boston and Houston. He worked for Lufkin Industries, Radio Shack and retired from Atlas Roofing in 2010 after 20 years of service. He loved playing in his band, playing the guitar with his grandson Hunter, and dancing. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer Hilton and Arturo Rodriguez of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Stephanie Hilton of Lufkin; father, Ret. Col. James Otto Hilton of New Boston; grandchildren, Cpl. Hunter Meece and wife Megan, James Hilton, Meagan Hilton, Brandon and Jake Jordan, Crystal, Logan and Bradleyjo Hilton; great-grandchildren, Cooper Meece and Adalee Hilton; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Jerrel Stinson of New Boston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenny and Betty Hilton of Ganado, Texas and Reverend Walter and Kathy Sanders of Arlington; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hilton was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Bell Hilton; and brother, Paul Hilton. Pallbearers will be Cpl. Hunter Meece, James Hilton, Brandon Jordan, Jake Jordan, Bradleyjo Hilton and Logan Hilton. Honorary pallbearers will be Clint Hilton and Arturo Rodriguez. Memorial contributions in Mr. Hilton's memory may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice of Lufkin, 209 Christie, Lufkin, TX 75904. Mr. Hilton's family wish to extend special thanks to Dr. Hunter Looney, the staff of Woodland Height Medical Center, Heart to Heart Hospice, and special thanks to Chaplain Dwayne Thornton for the loving care shown to him during his illness.
