BATON ROUGE—John Quincy Mahaffey, 77, formerly of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, April 22, 2016, in Baton Rouge. Mr. Mahaffey was born in Texarkana, Ark. He was a retired news anchor with WBRZ in Baton Rouge, a former anchor with stations WAFB and KFDA, a news director with KRIS, and formerly employed with KTBC and KCMC. Survivors include one daughter, Merilee Wilhelm of Baton Rouge; one sister, Prudence Mackintosh of Dallas; three nephews, Jack Mackintosh, Drew Mackintosh and William Mackintosh of Austin; two former wives, Nancy McDonald Redmond and Diana Tucker; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be noon Saturday at Green Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, and after the services Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a favorite charity.
