LEON CHILDS JR.

Leon Childs Jr., 84, of Texarkana, Texas, died Thursday, April 21, 2016, in a local hospital. Mr. Childs was born June 12, 1931, in Wamba, Texas. He was retired from Day & Zimmermann and Union Pacific Railroad, a member of Enon First Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Childs. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Orange Baptist Church with Leslie Brembry officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
