Imogene Scott

Imogene Scott, age 86, died August 17, 2016 at her home in Texarkana, AR. She was born in Magnolia, Arkansas May 24, 1930. Ms. Scott was a teacher in the Texarkana, Arkansas schools; an instructor at Texarkana College; and retired from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Ms. Scott was a home demonstration agent in Ashley, Miller, and Union Counties in Arkansas, working with 4-H clubs and adults. She also worked with early childhood and Head Start programs in Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. For her, the greatest accomplishment was assisting approximately 50 professionals to receive their Child Development Associate Credentials awarded by the Consortium in Washington, D. C. Ms. Scott was recognized as an outstanding volunteer in Arkansas and Texas. She served with Church Women United, Friends of the Library, Bread of Life Ministries, Life House Church, and The Sharing Place of First Presbyterian Church and for many years at the Friendship Center. Her special ministry was mentoring college students and assisting families in crisis. She was a board member for Southwest Arkansas Development Council. Ms. Scott is survived by her Son, Gregory (Maureen) Scott of Gardena, CA; Daughter, Ivy Annette Rose of Texarkana, TX and brother Samuel (Shirley) Moore of Corpus Christi, TX.
