JOHNNIE SLATON

Johnnie Slaton, 88, of Nash, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Slaton was born March 31, 1928, in Hooks, Texas. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Henry Slaton; and one daughter, Brenda Slaton. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Anita Kay and Dennis Fuls of Nash; four grandchildren and three spouses, Eric and Gina Carver of Nacogdoches, Texas, Jason and Cora Carver of Austin, Kera and Josh Gore of Magnolia, Ark., and David Fuls of Tucson, Ariz.; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. today at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. Burial will be under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
