HUGHES SPRINGS, Texas—Estelle Phillips Strange, 92, of Daingerfield, Texas, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016. Mrs. Strange was born Jan. 28, 1924. She was former owner of Clyde's Pet Shop, Weslaco, Texas, past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge No. 247, and a member of Daingerfield Museum Group and Veal Switch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Strange; and one son, Michael Strange. Survivors include one daughter, Gaybe Chaffin; one brother, James Phillips; four grandchildren, Bruce Fuqua, Brian Fuqua, Sheila Slusser and Shelly Butler; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Veal Switch Baptist Church with Paul Denny and Butch Ship officiating. Burial will be in Veal Switch Cemetery under direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home.
