MOUNT PLEASANT, Texas—Artis Ruth Landford, 83, of Mount Pleasant died Friday, July 22, 2016, in Mount Pleasant. Mrs. Landford was born April 2, 1933, in Mount Pleasant. She was a homemaker and member of Piney Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, A.T. Morgan and Rayfield Landford; one son, Elvis Joe Morgan; one daughter, Gloria Gindratt; and one great-grandson, Trevon Morgan. Survivors include one son, Douglas Morgan of Dallas, Texas; five daughters, Cynthia Sinnie, Bobbie Givens, Rose Woodson and LaSandra Meeks of Mount Pleasant and Nancy Morgan of Dallas; one sister, Mary Frances Craddock of Dallas; 22 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Piney Baptist Church with the Rev. C.J. Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Piney Cemetery under direction of Tumey Mortuary.
