BESSIE McKILLIP

DeKALB, Texas—Bessie McKillip, 95, of DeKalb died Monday, July 25, 2016, in a local nursing home. Mrs. McKillip was born July 3, 1921, in Slaton, Texas. She was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McKillip; and two sons, Freddie McKillip and Ronnie McKillip. Survivors include three sisters, Lela Mae Seaton of Friendswood, Texas, Helen Cowart of DeKalb and Maxine Luna of New Boston, Texas; three grandchildren, Gina Genung of The Colony, Texas, Melanie Lewis of LaVernia, Texas, and Jim McKillip of Maud, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Bates Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Woodmen Cemetery.
