Bettie Jo Mitchell Johnson, 97, of Hope, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at her home. Ms. Johnson was born May 12, 1919, in Normangee, Texas. She was retired from Neiman Marcus and a Baptist. Survivors include 10 grandchildren, Cecil Ellis Sr. of Hope, Thomas Ellis of Dallas, Terry Alexander, Kevin Ellis and Marcus Ellis of Nashville, Tenn.; the Rev. Oscar Ellis III and Cecelia Willis of Stephens, Ark., Mandy Thornton of Little Rock, Jonathan P. Ellis Sr. of Arlington, Texas, and Lamontra Jackson of Garland, Texas; 39 great-grandchildren; 38 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren. Closed casket services will be noon Saturday at Lyles Funeral Home with the Rev. Oscar Ellis Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Westmoreland Cemetery, Fulton, Ark.
