RODNEY TOMPKINS

HOPE, Ark.—Rodney Leon Tompkins, 75, of Hope died Thursday, Oct., 20, 2016, in Texarkana, Texas. Mr. Tompkins was born Aug. 25, 1941in Rosston, Ark. He was a truck driver with Hempstead County Road Dept. and a member of Shover Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Rothwell Tompkins of Hope; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Robin Tompkins and Evan and Anita Tompkins of Hope; one brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Faye Tompkins of Prescott, Ark.; one sister, Mary Alice Nauman of Hemphill, Texas; his mother-in-law, Peggy Rothwell; nine grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shover Springs Cemetery, Shover Springs, Ark., with Eric Barbaree officiating. Burial will be under direction of Herndon-Pharr Funeral Home.
