OLETA TARVER

VIVIAN, La.—Oleta Drake Tarver, 73, of Mooringsport, La., died Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Mrs. Tarver was born April 19, 1943, in Star City, Ark. She a former cosmetologist, an EMT with Caddo Fire District and a Morringsport Fire Department volunteer. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Ray Tarver Sr. of Mooringsport; five children, Todd Cowan of Mooringsport, Joe Tarver of Douglassville, Texas, LeAnn Lacy of Ore City, Texas, Walter Tarver of Linden, Texas, and Sonya Serena of Vivian, La.; one brother, Sonny Morris Drake of Star City, Ark.; two sisters, Pat Harrison of Star City and Betty Harrison of White Hall, Ark.; five grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; 10 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Vivian, with Randy Brown officiating. Burial will be in Mooringsport Memorial Gardens Cemetery under direction of Gorsulowsky Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.
